In the face of adversity, “look for the helpers,” was the now famous advice Fred Rogers once received from his mother. This project shines a big light on some truly wonderful helpers. Girls on the Run Chicago is part of a nationwide nonprofit that offers evidence-backed programs for young girls that helps them recognize their inner strengths, encourages physical activity, and gives them the confidence to stand up for themselves and others.
When they approached us to produce their 25th Anniversary Documentary for 2024, we wanted to honor their indelible work by presenting it in a big cinematic way. We thought, “if we’re not causing viewers to work up a good cry, we’re missing the mark.”
From the Girls on the Run Chicago leadership team to its youngest members, the story is guided by voices across the organization, and strengthened visually through dramatic footage of its programs in action. We’re so proud to have worked on this piece for such an incredible group of people.
